Syndicat du Décolletage (SID) International Turned Parts Association

The Syndicat du Décolletage (SID) is the formal title of the International Turned Parts Association. The Syndicat du Décolletage is comprised of the national associations of the following countries: Canada & USA, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

The Syndicat du Décolletage formally meets during the biennial Congress when one of the constituent countries hosts the Congress, which usually lasts for four days. During the Congress the first day is devoted to a business meeting while the other three days are mostly utilized for factory visits. Parallel to the technical program there is a ladies/spouse program where those who are more interested in sightseeing can avail of the tours, which are specially organised. The Congress provides an opportunity for members from each country to meet members from other countries; to network; to view turned parts manufacturing in other countries; to exchange views & experiences and to avail of possible business opportunities that may arise.

During the intermediate year the Syndicat Steering Committee, normally comprising the chairpersons and secretaries of the country associations, meets to co-ordinate the forthcoming congress scheduled for the following year.
